Trying to shop for new cell phones boggles my mind. I’m leery of these new start-up companies that are constantly advertising low prices for all-inclusive plans and data. We have done that before and the company changed hands every year until it was finally purchased by AT&T and that is the company that we have had for the longest time. We have a military discount from them and we are grandfathered in on at least one line to an unlimited data plan, that apparently will change with a new phone. We are all in need of new phones. Our old ones are getting quite glitchy and we are ready for new ones. However, it’s hard to find a phone that is just a phone for Berry. All she needs is a phone to carry for safety. I would almost consider a walkie-talkie for her, that way I could call her home when I needed to and forget a phone for her altogether, however, in a few years we would have to add her back anyway. Matthew and I use our phones for everything. We are considering a move to Android phones from the i-phone. We don’t mind changing carriers, especially since AT&T doesn’t always have the greatest coverage around here. However, I checked on another carrier, that everyone recommends, and it would raise our monthly cell phone bill to that of a car payment! That is ridiculous to stay connected to our loved ones and the world. I have never paid that much for a cell phone! Plus, the phones that Matthew and I want, they aren’t free. They are discounted, but not free. I have learned with the girls that I need to pay for the insurance on the phones that I buy them. Cost comparisons are painful and I am so tired of the back and forth debate. The other dilemma is changing our phone numbers to California from Ohio, then you have to send out messages to everyone you know that the phone number you have had for 7 years has changed and you always forget someone! It’s all a pain, just a big pain. It’s enough to cause a headache that I didn’t need or want this morning. Technology is not always progress people!!
